Caleigh and Neil’s love story began in August 2022, when Neil decided to comment on a picture of Bella & Bentley asking, “Who gets more excited about dressing up the doodles, Caleigh or Bella and Bentley?” The answer was clearly Bella & Bentley. From that point on, it only took about three months for Neil to figure out if Caleigh was ignoring him or just on her wacky night shift nurse sleep schedule. Eventually Caleigh began visiting Neil in State College and over many expresso martinis, their connection and bond together quickly grew, Neil teaching Caleigh about Yelp and grocery shopping, Caleigh attempting to get Neil to sit still and nap.

They started working on figuring out how to have more time together, deciding that moving to Neil’s hometown of Elysburg would make Caleigh’s commute to Geisinger easier and have Neil working closer to home. After months of searching, Neil and Caleigh found the perfect first home. Which could have been the perfect move in ready house, but just not enough closet space. Caleigh’s dad’s love for renovating took over, and he and Neil spent almost every weekend renovating the house together.

When Neil decided it was time to ask Caleigh to marry him, finding a way to surprise Caleigh wasn’t going to be easy. At the end of vacation in Cape May, Neil got Caleigh to a nearby beach under the guise of Amish people swimming there previously, and asked the question. Fast forwarding a few months after her “Yes!”, a few months of wedding planning and a few hundred links to available dogs, Caleigh’s dream of owning a dog with Neil came true, and they welcomed Merv into their little family!
